THE MASK

Photographed twice on the same night, four hours apart, in the same mask. Between the two photographs: a cab, four bank signs, a garbage truck, an elevator, a copy of Walden. We don't have a name. We're not sure we asked. The mask has three holes. Two of them were looking at us.

1:44 AM. A table, a glass of water, a phone. Nobody drank the water.

The mask, through the window of a shop that sells ouds. The shop was closed. The mask was not.
