For almost three months in 2024, one of the most photographed women in the world — the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton — disappeared. What followed was a maelstrom of conspiratorial speculation from the internet hivemind: was she getting a BBL? Was she replaced by a robot doppelganger? Was she DEAD??

The Princess is Not Dead is a motion capture puppetry piece about personhood in the age of deepfakes and conspiracy theories. Five puppeteers search for clues to understand Princess Kate’s absence from the most notorious family in the Western world.

Leo Grierson

Leo Grierson is a trans theatre artist working at the intersection of theatre and emergent technologies. Their work explores queerness in digital interaction, using technological systems as frameworks and metaphors for navigating online and physical social environments. Their work has been presented at The Brick, The Tank, The Cell, The Hirshhorn Museum, Auckland Pride Festival, London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and more. They are based in the Bay Area, and currently teach as Assistant Professor of Acting, Directing, and Producing Across Media at University of the Pacific.

Where does the show take place?

This show will take place at Ars Nova, located at 511 W 54th Street, New York, NY 10019.

What is the seating set-up & how do I get the best seats?

Seating is general admission and first-come first-served. So, the earlier you arrive at the theater, the more choice you’ll have about where you sit! (Bonus: the most affordable drinks in Midtown are at Bars Nova!)

What if it's sold out?

If a performance is sold out, you can join a standby line for day-of-show tix made available by minute cancellations and no-shows. Standby will begin 1 hour prior to curtain and will form outsideFolks from the standby line will be admitted into the show on a rolling basis as availability is confirmed. 

Additionally, Supra is never sold out! If you can’t make the show in-person, you can always stream online for only $15/mo, which gets you unlimited streaming access to performances from the last year. You can cancel your membership anytime by emailing contact@arsnovanyc.com.

Are there ticket fees?

Yes. The processing fees are charged by our ticketing and credit card processors, and increase along with the base price of your ticket.

What is your refund/exchange policy?

All sales are final – there are no refunds or exchanges.

If you’re unable to use your tickets, you may donate them in exchange for a letter of tax credit by emailing tix@arsnovanyc.com.
