In SEDUCTION: THE CRUEL WOMAN, Wanda is a dominatrix and gallerist who invites patrons to witness her scenes with her submissives. Inspired by the Marquis de Sade’s “Venus in Furs”, writer-directors Monika Treut and Elfi Mikesch spin Sade’s tale of power, apathy, and pleasure to foreground the role the spectator (both imagined and real) plays in enabling these violating acts to occur.
