BORED TEENAGERS

[BRENNENDE LANGEWEILE]

“In the late 1970s, Wolfgang Büld first made a name for himself with his documentary PUNK IN LONDON. The follow-up to this authentic document of youth culture was the ZDF production BORED TEENAGERS, part of the “Das kleine Fernsehspiel” series; it was filmed in 1979 in the wake of the RAF panic – wanted posters are visible in the background several times throughout the film. The movie blends concert footage of the English punk band The Adverts with a loose narrative thread about a young punk named Peter and his hairdresser girlfriend, Karin, as they follow the band – led by TV Smith and Gaye Advert – on their tour through Germany. It is an entertaining yet quirky journey through a late-70s musical subculture.” –OX-FANZINE
